Concrete

What do we really see when we look at concrete? Usually, very little. It’s the surface beneath our feet – grey, functional, and easily overlooked. Yet, in Antony’s hands, this ordinary material becomes something entirely unexpected.

Through a series of transformations, each photograph pushes further from realism and deeper into abstraction. The rough textures and muted tones of concrete dissolve into fields of vivid colour and organic form. What begins as static and solid evolves into a living, fluid interplay of light, texture, and imagination.

As the series progresses, the subject seems to lose its material weight. Concrete becomes thought – mutable, expressive, and open to interpretation. Figures and emotions emerge, only to fade again into the shifting visual landscape.

With Concrete, Antony invites us to reconsider the familiar. What appears fixed becomes fluid; what seems mundane reveals its hidden poetry.
